Marty McFly, a high school student, befriends an eccentric scientist, Dr. Emmett Brown, who has created a time machine out of a DeLorean car. During a demonstration, Marty inadvertently activates the time machine and is sent back in time to the year 1955. There, he encounters his teenage parents and inadvertently disrupts the initial meeting between his parents, jeopardizing his own existence. With the help of the younger Dr. Brown, Marty must find a way to ensure that his parents fall in love and ultimately set things right to ensure his own existence. As he navigates the challenges of the past, he also has to deal with the bullying Biff Tannen, who complicates matters at every turn. With the clock ticking and the prospect of being stuck in the past forever, Marty races against time to fix the past and secure his future.
