In 17th century France, King Louis XIII dies and is succeeded by his cruel and oppressive son, King Louis XIV. However, unknown to the public, there is a secret twin brother of the king, Philippe, who has been imprisoned in the Bastille and forced to wear an iron mask to conceal his identity.
