Set in a small southern town in the 1990s, 'Burden' tells the powerful and inspiring true story of Mike Burden, a young man deeply entrenched in the Ku Klux Klan. After years of being indoctrinated into the Klan's hateful ideology, Mike begins to question his beliefs when he falls in love with a single mother and her young son. As his feelings for them grow stronger, Mike finds himself torn between the racist community that has been his family and the love and acceptance he has found with his newfound family. With the help of a local reverend and a black congregation, Mike embarks on a journey of self-discovery and redemption, ultimately deciding to leave the Klan and its toxic teachings behind. However, his decision is met with resistance and violence from his former Klan associates, who see his departure as a betrayal. With the support of his new family and the community, Mike stands up against the hatred and racism that once consumed him, facing the challenges and threats head-on. Through perseverance and courage, Mike and his new family work to dismantle the racism and prejudice that has plagued their town for generations. 'Burden' is a moving and thought-provoking film that portrays the transformative power of love, compassion, and the human spirit in the face of adversity.
