Hui Buh: Das Schlossgespenst is a delightful family-friendly fantasy-comedy film that follows the story of Hui Buh, a friendly ghost who haunts the abandoned and decrepit Burgeck Castle. The ghost, Hui Buh, has been haunting the castle for over 500 years and is quite content with his afterlife, spending his days scaring off any unsuspecting visitors. However, Hui Buh's peaceful afterlife is disrupted when the castle is inherited by the young and ambitious Prince Julius, who has plans to renovate the castle and turn it into a wellness hotel. Unwilling to share his home with the living, Hui Buh is determined to scare off Prince Julius and his entourage. However, Hui Buh's scare tactics fail to work on the modern-day visitors, as they are more amused than frightened by the ghost. Frustrated and desperate, Hui Buh seeks the help of his old friend, Heinrich the ancient mummy, to assist him in scaring off the intruders. As Hui Buh and Heinrich's comical attempts at haunting the castle continue to fail, they soon realize that they have a bigger problem to deal with. The evil ghost hunter, Count von Etepetete, is summoned to capture Hui Buh and Heinrich and banish them from the castle forever. With the help of Julius' niece, Leonora, who can see and communicate with Hui Buh and Heinrich, the unlikely team must work together to outsmart Count von Etepetete and save the castle from being turned into a wellness hotel. As the adventure unfolds, Hui Buh, Julius, Leonora, and Heinrich discover the true meaning of friendship, bravery, and the importance of preserving history and heritage. The film culminates in a heartwarming and hilarious showdown between the living and the dead, as they join forces to protect the castle and ensure that Hui Buh can continue to haunt his beloved home for centuries to come.
