Hudson Milbank, a successful screenwriter in his thirties, is facing a midlife crisis and struggling with depersonalization disorder, which makes him feel emotionally numb and disconnected from the world around him. His marriage to Sarah is falling apart, and he finds himself unable to connect with his friends and family. Seeking help, Hudson visits a therapist who suggests that he try new experiences to break out of his routine and reconnect with his emotions. Reluctantly, Hudson agrees and begins to explore activities outside of his comfort zone. Along the way, he meets a colorful cast of characters who challenge his perspective on life, including a free-spirited woman named Sara, who becomes a romantic interest. As Hudson navigates this journey of self-discovery, he gradually starts to regain his sense of self and confront the underlying issues that have been holding him back. With the support of his therapist, friends, and newfound love interest, Hudson begins to find a renewed passion for life and a deeper understanding of himself. Numb is a poignant and introspective exploration of one man's struggle with mental health and his journey to find meaning and connection in a world that often leaves us feeling numb.
